Full Description

Pulleys are used to hoist materials and scaffolds up and down a building exterior. This is the chief means by which exterior scaffold systems are erected and dismantled. These pulleys must withstand outside elements while supporting heavy loads up and down.

Should there be any slack in the ropes used for hoisting, the system could fail. A falling scaffold quickly becomes a jobsite hazard. One way to prevent rope slippage is by using a pulley equipped with a safety brake as a back-up. (Also to ensure that workplace safety regulations are enforced; this means that no personnel should stay below suspended loads.) To enforce jobsite safety, Swing Staging recommends the use of Securpulley, a pulley system with a fail-safe that brakes the load at the moment personnel cease hoisting the rope.

Securpulley is an advanced pulley system that incorporates an automatic braking system. This system automatically stops loads from falling when the rope is accidentally released. It was designed for use when erecting and dismantling pipe scaffolding, where operations such as lifting of loads, lowering of loads and lowering of an empty rope is required.

Securpulley System Features:

  • Maximum Load : 50 Kgs.
  • Maximum height : 30 meters

Here is how the Securpulley works. Two personnel are required to operate this pulley system; one on the ground and the other at the working level. The load must be connected to the rope on the side where the counterweight is arranged. This way, should the operator’s force on the rope cease, two side plates on the pulley are activated and braking is engaged. Securpulley works from 10 foot, up to 40 foot heights. For maximum safety, Securpulley is not recommended for use if the rope material is wet.
